INEC Declares APC Winner Of the IMO State Rerun Election

The Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, has declared Nkenna
Nzeruo, candidate of the Ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of the Oru East of Imo State House of Assembly rerun election held Saturday.
The APC candidate scored a total votes of 5533 defeating his closest opponent Mrs Depunna, who is the candidate of the main opposition party of People's Democratic Party, PDP with a 5101 votes.

The Appeal court had in December 2015, sacked the APC candidate from the state legislature following a petition brought before it by Minicent Duru, candidate of the Labour party in the 2015, election.
