MAN STABBED FRIEND TO DEATH, SET HOUSE ON FIRE OVER BEER FIGHT

The incident happened after a 24 year old man accused his 22 year old childhood friend who name was "Tebogo Mokano" of stealing his beer while they were at a tavern in New Eersterus in Hammanskraal, Tshwane.
A fist fight broke out between the two, leaving Tebogo dead.
Meanwhile, Dikeledi Mokano, Tebogo’s grieving mum, said she was shocked when she was called and told her son had been stabbed.
“I rushed to the clinic.
“When I got there, his friends told me he was dead.
“My son had big plans for his future, but now a stupid fight has cut his life short,” she said.
Rose Gololo (52), said she was woken up by the sound of someone trying to breaking down a bedroom door.
“He told us our family member had killed his cousin and deserved to lose his life as
well.
“He started a fire in the bedroom, but we were able to put it out. Then he ran away,” said the aunt.
“An hour later, he came back with a two-litre bottle of petrol.
He threw it into the bedroom and ran away.
“We were still out looking for our family member at the time,” she said.
“We are only left with the clothes we are wearing. Why did they involve us in their stupid fight?
“They were best friends who worked together.
They were laughing when they left together the previous evening and promised to be home before dawn,” she said.
Police spokeswoman Captain Sarah Lesabane said cases of arson and murder have been opened.
One man has been arrested and will appear in the Moretele Magistrates Court.
No arrests have been made in the murder case.
