West Ham join race to sign James Rodriguez

West Ham are in the running to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid – a transfer which would shock the world.
Meanwhile, the current Champions League holders, Real Madrid, are willing to cash in on the Colombia international this summer after leaving him out a lot last season.
They apparently want rid of James but are demanding a transfer fee of around €80 million for the player – something West Ham
may struggle to compete with.
Manchester United are currently leading the race to sign the midfielder but Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also beenlinked with him too.
As for the Hammers, it is reported that they
are also prepared to test the water with an offer, although meeting Real Madrid’s €80m valuation is unlikely.
James Rodriguez at Real Madrid James joined Real Madrid in 2014 after describing it as ‘life’s dream’ to play for the club.
The player signed a six-year contract with the Spanish club for €80 million.
This made him the fourth-most expensive player in history (currently), the third-most
expensive in Real Madrid’s history and the most expensive Colombian to date, surpassing the fee Radamel Falcao’s joined Monaco for in 2013 (€60 million).
Since joining Real Madrid, James has scored 20 goals in 55 La Liga games and has helped the side win the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.
